Conveniently located in the COMPANY Head Office in the city centre, the Legal department provides services in the following legal practice areas:
Representing client's interests in court of general and special jurisdiction in Odessa and elsewhere in Ukraine. Within the framework of these activities the litigation work can be performed at any stage of litigation in trial courts, courts of appeal and courts of cassation.
However, the main scope of work is focused on handling disputes connected with Maritime law:
- Arrest and release of vessels in Ukraine and abroad;
- Charter Party disputes;
- Protection of Principals interests in disputes with Port and other companies and individuals involved in shipping;
- Marine casualties (collision, grounding, fire, explosion, salvage, towage, pollution);
- Labour disputes (industrial diseases, accidents resulting in injury or loss of life).
Assisting in registrating vessels in the Shipping Register of Ukraine as well as deletion
therefrom; registration of vessels under any flag of convenience.
Assisting in ship and equipment sale and purchase contracts.
Legal analysis of draft and concluded contract, legal examination of separate contract terms, participation in business talks, notarial certification of documents, state registration of contracts, securing original contract copies and other documents.
Advising on optimization of taxation, Port fees and Disbursement Accounts.
Dealing with enforcement of foreign judgements. For that purpose all necessary documents will be drafted for court appeal and protection of the client's interests in court hearing.
Translating case materials into English.
This list is not final, since the Company claim-handlers deal with other matters in the field of Maritime law. They prepare preliminary analysis of litigation materials in courts and other judicial bodies, draft documents for litigation in foreign courts, participate in court trials.
