The city of Varna was settled as Odessos in the 6th century B.C. by the Greeks. The biggest Bulgarian town port on the Black Sea, today Varna is an important commercial, cultural and resort centre. Explore a wealth of the city's sights and discover its rich cultural heritage on this introductory excursion. Starting from the pier you will drive to the Roman Thermae, public baths dating from Roman times. Picturesquely located near the shore, they were built on an area of some 25,000 square feet during the 2nd century A.D. next, continue with your guided tour visit to the Museum of Art and History. Marvel at the intricate details of the priceless collection of archeological findings from the Chalcolithic Necropolis and examine the Treasure Room with its beautiful belts, bracelets and other jewelry dating back more than 5,000 years ago.
